Societe Generale has announced the appointment of Axel Diefenbacher as chief risk officer for Asia-Pacific.

Diefenbacher joined the French bank in 1998 in Hong Kong on the short-term rates trading desk. In 2000, he moved to risk management positions in Singapore and Tokyo, in charge of market risks. After that in 2004, he was responsible for the bank’s global markets division of the emerging foreign exchange volatility trading in Asia, based in Tokyo, Sydney and Hong Kong, successively.
