People moves: Brevan Howard risk head moves to Coremont unit, Pimco PMs, and more

Jasmine Burgess, Brevan Howard’s former head of risk in the US, has become head of Coremont US, the firm’s outsourced services unit. Aneta Bresliska will replace Burgess at Brevan Howard.
Established in 2018, London-headquartered Coremont handles front- and middle-office operations for hedge funds and asset managers, including Brevan’s own funds.
Prior to joining the hedge fund in 2016, Burgess was chief risk officer at Prologue Capital, a Greenwich, Connecticut-based hedge fund, and previously held various roles at Macquarie Bank, Deutsche Bank and JP Morgan. Bresliska was previously a risk manager at Light Sky Macro, a New York-based hedge fund, founded in 2017 by former Brevan portfolio manager Ben Melkman.
Pimco has appointed David Forgash as head of global leveraged loans. Based in the firm’s Newport Beach headquarters, Forgash retains his responsibilities as executive vice-president and portfolio manager. He will report to Jamie Weinstein, managing director and head of corporate special situations, and Mohit Mittal, managing director and head of credit trading. Forgash was previously head of high-yield investments for Europe.
Pimco has also hired Roman Kogan as portfolio manager and executive vice-president of the commercial real estate team in Europe. Kogan will report to John Murray, managing director and head of commercial real estate. He joins from Deutsche Bank, where he held various roles, including European head of commercial real estate, and head of commercial real estate origination in the United States.
HSBC Global Asset Management has hired Maria Ryan to the newly created role of head of institutional sales for the UK, Scandinavia and the Middle East. Based in London, she will report to Brian Heyworth, global head of institutional business. Ryan leaves DWS, where she was most recently head of the UK region and of UK and Nordics distribution. She previously held various roles at JP Morgan Asset Management, including client adviser in its UK institutional team and Emea head of fixed income strategies.
Also at HSBC, Andre Cronje, global chief operating officer for global banking and markets, has left for personal reasons. The position will not be replaced in the reorganisation of global banking and markets.
John Key has been appointed managing director at Macquarie Capital. Key was most recently head of Asia equity derivatives sales at Deutsche Bank, joining in 2013. Prior to this, he held sales roles at Daiwa and KBC Financial Products in Hong Kong and London.
Joe Sayers has joined RBC as a vice-president of high yield and loan sales. Sayers is based in London and will report to Janet Wilkinson, head of fixed income and currencies flow sales for Emea. Sayers joins from Citi, following a five-year stint as part of the leveraged credit sales team, servicing clients across the UK, US and Switzerland.
Nomura has hired Sarab Bhutani to head its South-east Asian investment banking unit. Bhutani is based in Singapore and will report to Kenji Teshima, head of investment banking for Asia excluding Japan. He joins from Standard Chartered, where he held several roles, including global head of general industries and regional head of financial sponsors. Bhutani replaces Kelvin Ho, who is now country head of Nomura Singapore.
EDF Trading, an EDF subsidiary, has appointed John Flynn as chief risk officer and to its executive committee. Flynn will report to Béatrice Bigois, chief executive officer. Flynn joined EDF Trading in 2006, where he held a number of roles in product control and risk – most recently, global head of front office risk.
LCH has appointed Yutaka Imanishi as head of Japan with immediate effect. Imanishi is based in Tokyo and will report to Kate Birchall, head of Asia Pacific. He joins from CME Group, where he was executive director, optimisation, Japan. He was previously chief executive officer for the Asia Pacific region at TriOptima.
The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has appointed two new members to its board of directors – Deborah Cunningham and Craig Messinger. Cunningham joins as chief investment officer of global liquidity markets from Federated Hermes. Messinger joins from Virtu Financial, where he was vice-chairman and on the executive management team. Prior to Virtu, Messinger was executive vice-president and global head of trading and risk management at BNY Mellon.
Putri Pascualy has joined Angelo Gordon, an alternative investment firm, as a managing director and credit product specialist within the investor relations team. She joins from PAAMCO Prisma, where she was a partner and credit strategist, prior to which she was a senior analyst at Cornerstone Research.
OpenFin, an operating system used by financial services firms, has hired Adrian Crockett as chief product officer, based in New York. Crockett joins from Pellucid Analytics, a content platform he co-founded in 2012, where he served as chief executive officer until December 2019. Crockett previously led investment banking strategy groups at Credit Suisse and Merrill Lynch.
Alan Davies has joined INDOS Financial, an independent fund depositary, as depositary director from SS&C Depositary Services, where he was a director leading depositary services. Davies was previously head of client services in HSBC’s trustee and depositary services.
Regulatory consultancy Bovill has hired Joe DiGiglio as a New York-based managing consultant. DiGiglio was previously a senior compliance officer for Cadre and a senior principal consultant for ACA Compliance Group.
David White has been appointed to the newly created role of chief commercial officer at CloudMargin, the collateral and margin management platform. White is based in London and will report to chief executive officer Stuart Connolly. He previously served as head of sales for the triResolve business line of TriOptima, now a unit of CME Group.
Charles Smith has been named head of digital solutions, wealth management at Refinitiv. He was previously managing director at EY Wealth and Asset Management. Prior to EY, Charles held senior leadership roles at Fiserv and CheckFree.
TPG, a global alternative asset firm, has appointed Michael Stone as co-managing partner of TPG Growth, the equity platform. He will work alongside Matthew Hobart, who was named co-managing partner of the platform in 2019. Jim Coulter, co-chief executive and co-founder of TPG, who was serving as interim co-managing partner, will step back following Stone’s appointment. Stone was previously a senior adviser and partner at TPG Growth and will continue to serve as chief investment officer of The Rise Fund following his new appointment.
Allfunds has hired Stéphane Corsaletti as chief investment officer and will report to chief executive officer Juan Alcaraz. Corsaletti will be based in Luxembourg. Prior to Allfunds, Corsaletti was the founder and vice-chairman of ABN Amro Investment Solutions.
HarbourVest Partners, a global private markets asset manager, has named Tadasu Matsuo as managing director and co-head of the firm’s Japan office, to be based in Tokyo. Prior to HarbourVest, Matsuo was head of alternative investments at Japan Post Insurance. Previously, he was senior managing director at Alternative Investment Capital (AIC).
Suren Rana has been appointed chief executive of BrightSphere Investment Group. Prior to this appointment, Rana was chief financial officer of BrightSphere Investment Group, from January 20, 2019. He was a member of Brightsphere’s board from November 2017 to August 2018 and previously served as CIO at HNA Capital International.
Bjoern Jesch has been appointed global head of multi-asset and solutions at DWS, effective July 1. He will report to Stefan Kreuzkamp. Jesh joins from Credit Suisse, where he was global head of investment management within the International Wealth Management division. Jesch will take over from Christian Hille, who is leaving for personal reasons after 13 years with the firm.
Man GLG, the investment management division of Man Group, has appointed Andrew Swan as head of Asia (excluding Japan) equities. Swan will join the firm in July and will be based in Sydney, Australia. He will report directly to Man GLG chief executive, Teun Johnston. Swan joins from BlackRock, where he is currently head of Asia and global emerging market fundamental equities. Prior to BlackRock, Swan spent 17 years at JP Morgan in various Asia Pacific equity portfolio management and research roles.
Allianz Partners has appointed Vinay Surana as regional chief executive officer for Asia Pacific. Surana is based in Singapore and will report directly to Dan Assouline, global head of markets. He joins from AIG, where he spent the past 13 years, most recently as senior vice-president and head of individual personal insurance for Asia Pacific, based in Sydney.
Citigroup Australia has appointed Alex Cartel as head of its investment banking business, to join in July. He will report to Tony Osmond, the bank’s head of capital markets and advisory. Cartel joins from Deutsche Bank, where he was most recently co-head of corporate finance for the Australia division.
Raymond James has appointed Alastair Rogers as managing director in the Diversified Industrials sector of its European Investment Banking business, based in London. Rogers was most recently head of European Sustainability, Services & Industrials practice at Canaccord Genuity, and before that he was at UBS Investment Bank and Hawkpoint.
Terra Firma Capital Partners has named Vivek Ahuja as chief executive officer, pending regulatory approvals. Ahuja is currently chief financial officer and chief investment officer of Terra Firma, having been in the position since January 2018. Prior to Terra Firma, he spent 17 years with Standard Chartered, most recently as deputy group chief financial officer.
George Bilicic has rejoined Lazard as vice-chairman, investment banking and global head of power, energy and infrastructure. Bilicic held the role prior to joining Sempra Energy, where he was president and chief legal officer. He originally joined Lazard as a managing director in 2002.
AIA Singapore has appointed Wong Sze Keed as chief executive officer. Sze Keed will move into the role from July 01 this year and will report to regional chief executive Tan Hak Leh. She takes the place of Patrick Teow, who has decided to take a break. Sze Keed originally joined AIA back in 2013 and is currently chief distribution officer.
Bordier & Cie, a private banking group, has named Christian Skaanild as a partner. Skaanild was previously partner and head of emerging markets private equity at Capital Group, an asset management firm.
