Rabobank appoints leaders for revamped structured products group

The bank has combined all trading, structuring and engineering of structured products across all asset classes (equity, fixed income, hybrid, foreign exchange and credit) into a single group.

Jasper van Wel will join Rabobank as European head of client structured products at the start of May. He will be responsible for all trading and structuring of the products, as well as developing risk management within the division. He will report to Donal Galvin, global head of client structured products and head of global financial markets in London. Most recently, van Wel worked at London-based hedge fund MKM Longboat Capital Advisors as a trader.

Xavier Ducros has been appointed European head of structuring, reporting to van Wel. He joined the bank in 2007 and has transferred to London from Hong Kong, where he has been working within the multi-product structuring team.

Additionally, Franz Maier will take up the role of global head of financial engineering. He has worked at Rabobank for more than ten years and was most recently head of structuring and financial engineering for the equity and fund derivatives group. He will also report to Galvin.
