Barclays Capital hires five in the Americas

Omar Moreira takes up the same role for Brazilian clients. He moves from Deutsche Bank in Sao Paulo, where he was managing director of corporate and institutional sales. He will remain based in Sao Paulo and also reports to Somekh.

Leelee Panno becomes associate director in the New York office, and will assist in the expansion of the firm's securitisation-based derivatives business. She reports to Tim Moran, a director in the group. Panno was previously at Swiss Re, where she was responsible for marketing and sales of interest rate derivatives.

Greg Power takes the title of director and head of US liability management, responsible for strengthening the firm’s liability management franchise. He is also based in New York and reports to Somekh. He joins from JP Morgan Chase, where he was also head of liability management. Previously he also ran Goldman Sachs’ liability management group.

George Manahilov joins as associate director for risk management of commodities, from Goldman Sachs, where he developed derivatives-based transactions for a number of commodities including oil, gas and metals. Also based in New York, he reports jointly to heads of commodities structured products, Somekh and Martin Woodhams.
