BNP Paribas transfers €8bn of liabilities to Level 3

Revision in level-setting responsible for biggest net transfer in at least eight years

In the first half of the year, BNP Paribas transferred a net €8.1 billion ($8.8 billion) of liabilities measured at fair value to Level 3 – the biggest such move since at least 2016.

During this period, liabilities worth €8.8 billion were moved to Level 3, while €668 million were transferred out.
