Guangfa’s NSFR drops to just above regulatory minimum

Eight of 12 Chinese banks see decline in funding metric in Q1

China Guangfa Bank (CGB) recorded a net stable funding ratio (NSFR) of 100.85% in the first quarter, its lowest figure on record.

The bank’s NSFR was down 6.5 percentage points from the prior quarter, leaving it just 85 basis points above the regulatory minimum of 100%. This marked the closest shave with the minimum requirement at any of 12 Chinese banks tracked by Risk Quantum since Q1 2019.
