Imposition of Swedish mortgage floor adds €10.6 billion of risk-weighted assets alone

Risk-weighted assets at Nordea, which recently moved its headquarters to Finland, jumped €35 billion ($40 billion), or 29%, in the fourth quarter of last year, following a series of updates to its internal models made as the bank adapts to European Central Bank supervision.

Total RWAs stood at €156 billion at end-December, from €121 billion the prior quarter, interrupting a downward trend that began in June 2017.

The increase was driven largely by higher credit RWAs, which rose 22% to €121
