Capitolis registers swap dealer in strategy refresh

Vendor’s SBSD registration may facilitate unique multi-seller platform for equity swap business

New direction

Capital-optimisation firm Capitolis has registered a security-based swap dealer (SBSD), Capitolis Liquid Global Markets, with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) – a move that could represent a shift in strategy for the vendor’s equity swap financing platform.

The decision may also put pressure on other providers, including Guggenheim and Cantor Fitzgerald, to register SBSDs for similar asset-backed commercial paper activities.
