Fed willing to listen on CCAR transparency calls

Central bank will seek industry input on bolstering transparency of stress test regime, says Quarles

The Federal Reserve has signalled its willingness to listen to industry calls for greater insight into the models it uses to assess banks’ capital adequacy under its annual stress-testing programme.

Speaking at an industry event earlier today (November 7), Fed vice-chair of supervision Randal Quarles said the regulator will soon issue a ‘request for input’ on a proposal designed to bring greater transparency to its annual Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) regime.
