Esma ‘determined’ to finalise Mifid II rules in September

Market has been expecting a delay; timeline will hinge on board meeting this week

The head of the European Securities and Markets Authority (Esma) is "determined" to publish a final version of Europe's revised trading rules by the end of September.

Dealers have been expecting the rules to be delayed beyond the end of the month.

The decision on whether to approve a total of 26 regulatory technical standards (RTS) under the second Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (Mifid II) and its related regulation, Mifir, will be taken at a board meeting between Esma and regulators
