Asia Risk Congress: Regulators must find balance in 2010, says HKMA

After a flurry of regulatory proposals over the past year, the hard work of calibrating the new regulatory framework will begin in 2010, according to Karen Kemp, executive director in the banking policy department at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA). Speaking at the Asia Risk Congress in Hong Kong today, Kemp said: "Next year, 2010, will be a key year in determining the appropriate balance of regulation, and addressing the weaknesses exposed by the crisis."
