Counterparty Radar: US mutual funds, ETFs shed $2.7 billion in options notional during Q4

Fidelity and T Rowe Price boosted their sold calls notional exposure on stock options in the fourth quarter of last year, while Franklin Templeton backtracked on its Q3 expansion.

The US mutual fund and exchange-traded fund market contracted by $2.7 billion to approximately $28.8 billion at the end of Q4, according to data compiled from US Securities and Exchange Commission filings analysed by Risk.net’s Counterparty Radar service. The largest decrease came in sold calls at $1.6 billion
