UK energy brokers form association

Nine brokers operating in the over-the-counter energy markets in the UK formed the London Energy Brokers’ Association (LEBA) in July.

The new association is intended to provide a forum for the discussion of regulatoryand market issues facing broking participants within the energy sector, coveringUK oil, electricity, natural gas and related markets.

LEBA is affiliated to the UK’s Wholesale Markets Brokers’ Association(WMBA) and is headed by WMBA chairman Michael Beales.

LEBA says it intends to work with regulators, other associations, market participantsand financial institutions for the long-term benefit of the industry.
