Jacky Mak leaves HKEX to take career break

Industry veteran and Swap Connect pioneer announced resignation at weekend

A senior executive at Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing involved in the design and launch of the landmark Swap Connect initiative has stepped down to take a career break.

Jacky Mak, head of fixed income and currency (FIC) product development at HKEX, said in a LinkedIn post on March 22 that he had resigned, citing health challenges.

“This pause will allow me to rest, spend more time with my loved ones, and explore ways to give back to those in need,” Mak said in the post.
