The European structured products industry has vented its frustration with what it sees as the region's needlessly confusing rules on performance scenarios – part of reforms that will upend disclosure practices for every product sold on the continent.

The European Supervisory Authorities (ESAs) signed off on the regulatory technical standards (RTSs) for the incoming framework on packaged retail and insurance-based investment products (Priips) on April 6. The changes, which must be implemented
