CDS spreads unmoved on financials

The cost of credit protection on major European and US financials was almost unchanged from yesterday in today's European and Asian trading.

From yesterday's New York close until 14.25 BST today, credit default swap (CDS) spreads on major European and US financials experienced moves of less than 5bp. The biggest mover was Citi, which saw spreads tighten to 442.5bp from 447.8bp on five-year senior CDSs referencing it, according to credit information specialist CMA Datavision.

CDS spreads on Chinese banks experienced greater movement. Spreads on state-owned Bank of China tightened 7.85bp to 104.95bp, while CDSs on China Development
