CDS spreads tighten on US financials

The cost of credit protection on major US financials fell in today's European and Asian trading.

Five-year senior credit default swaps (CDS) referencing Citi moved in to 418.11 basis points at 3.20pm BST today from 428.1bp at close of trading in New York yesterday, according to credit information specialist CMA Datavision. Spreads on Bank of America tightened to 219.28bp from 226.91bp.

CDSs on Morgan Stanley narrowed to 202.73bp from 210.03bp, CDSs on Goldman Sachs moved in to 148.68bp from 154.46bp, while spreads were trading tighter on JP Morgan at 105.41bp from 109.94bp.
