Basel Committee, FSB and EBA open ears to balance sheet leverage concerns

Regulators are increasingly alive to concerns from banks calling for a change in the way that balance sheet leverage is ­calculated.

In August, the European Banking Authority (EBA) said it will incorporate additional analysis into its calibration reports on proportionality, the scope of application and impact on markets of the leverage ratio and net stable funding requirements (NSFR) developed by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision.
