Will the US Department of Energy's stimulus funding provide the financing required by the renewable energy sector?

W hile environmental issues have been one of the Obama Administration's top priorities, the US renewable energy sector has been in somewhat of a holding pattern in recent months, as companies await details of how, when and where stimulus funding might be applied. Private finance that once flowed into the sector from commercial banks and other investors has dried up post-financial crisis, temporarily stopping the burgeoning sector in its tracks.

The latest figures from research firm New Energy
