Icap Energy’s Francis wrestles with regulatory change

Icap Energy's new head of energy and commodities in Europe faced tough decisions in his first few months of the job

Graham Francis admits it was "a little daunting" to step into the shoes of one of the leading figures in the world of energy derivatives last year.

In July 2014, Francis became London-based managing director of energy and commodities for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Icap Energy, taking over from Paul Newman, who had held the position for more than two decades. Newman took on a new role as chairman of Icap Energy.
