Renewables are being excluded from Remit, traders complain

European energy traders say data being reported under the Regulation on Wholesale Energy Market Integrity and Transparency (Remit) is giving them a better insight into the continent’s power market, but complain the exclusion of many renewable generators means a potentially vital chunk of information is left out of the rules.

Remit, which came into force in December 2011, is aimed at stamping out market manipulation and insider trading in wholesale power and gas markets across the European Union
