Bank for International Settlements’ head of web publishing Timo Laurmaa says Twitter more beneficial to profit-making companies; short releases help when reaching out to wider-than-usual audience

Central banks may not have as much to gain from the new wave of social media tools, such as Twitter, a micro-blogging website, that have been enthusiastically embraced by businesses and governments, Timo Laurmaa, the Bank for International Settlements' (BIS) head of web communications, told CentralBanking.com on Sunday.
