Dr. Joseph Oscar Akotey is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Accounting and Finance, KNUST School of Business. He is also a Senior Research Associate at School of Accounting, University of Johannesburg, South Africa. He holds a PhD in Development Finance from Stellenbosch University, South Africa. His teaching and research interests include Corporate Finance, Risk Finance, and Development Finance. He has publications in quality international journals ranked by ABDC and ABS such as Energy Policy, World Development, Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance, Research in International Business and Finance, Journal of Risk Finance, etc. He has attended and presented research papers at the Centre for the Study of African Economies, Oxford University, UK; at Boston Conference, Harvard University, USA; at ESSA Conference, South Africa; and Global Development Finance Conference, Dubai, etc. He has successfully completed the supervision of PhD students at KNUST School of Business and at Stellenbosch Business School. Joseph is a member of the Finance Council of the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani, Ghana.
